Tampa Bay, Florida's first professional web design consultantcy - Internet Adept, Inc. - began as an offshoot of Dewey's company Computer Tutors of Tampa, established in 1991 to help people with the internet. As the regular "technolgy beat" writer for the Weekly Planet, a columnist for Computer Friendly News and a reporter for the Tampa Tribune, St. Petersburg Times, WMNF and WUSF Davis-Thompson reported on the first stirrings of interest in the web in Tampa Bay, Florida and worldwide.

HausAmong the first web site junkies were his friends at Info Haus Cyber Cafe, on Armenia in Tampa, Florida, where Davis-Thompson gave "Surfing Lessons" every Tuesday night for newbies. Ausec and Cheney, a local advertising firm working in broadcast and print media, had a small web site sales team that worked with Dewey Davis-Thompson to design web sites stored at InterAcess, the first local ISP including such exciting projects as Quicktime 3D views of auctioned Princess Di Gowns, an initial site for The Tampa Visitors and Convention Center and the Sunshine Network's online premiere.

In 1996 Davis-Thompson wrote a grant proposal, and with $10,000 and a lot of midnight oil helped to make WMNF the first radio station to broacast from a Tampa Web Site, designed by Clay Bennett, a Pulitzer Prize winner from St. Petersburg, Florida.

Since then we have worked with hundreds of clients on projects and training for the Tampa Housing Authority web site, the Tampa Theatre web site, the Tampa Bay Business Guild web site and the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance web site.

Florida WebmasterInternet Adept also continues to work with superb local agencies, artists and programmers like Stephen Sluiter, Adam Daniels, ESCU Networks, The Florida Creative Alliance, Full Throttle Intermedia, A Movie Productions, Andrea Pawlitz and many others.

Avid in social service, Dewey was marketing director for Americorps inagural year in Sacramento, California, currently sits on the Sustany Foundation Board of Directors and has produced community radio, television and print media for three decades inclduing the recent radio play The Tocobaga Bargain.
